TriWest / VA Community Care — Veterans Affairs Community Care Network

VA Community Care does not provide a routine commercial gym-membership benefit through TriWest.

This program does not include a routine gym membership.

Fitness benefit

VA Community Care does not provide a routine commercial health-club or gym-membership benefit through TriWest.

Who can use it

The VA Community Care benefit package excludes membership in spas and health clubs. Veterans may have access to separate VA exercise, rehabilitation, or Whole Health programs when clinically appropriate.

How to use the benefit

A Veteran should work through the VA for covered and authorized healthcare services. Some VA facilities offer supervised exercise programs such as GeroFit for qualifying Veterans, but those programs are separate from a commercial gym membership.

Using the benefit at a gym

A gym should not seek TriWest contracting for an ordinary membership. TriWest contracting may be appropriate for separately covered, authorized clinical or integrative healthcare services when all VA requirements are met.

Important

VA-authorized healthcare services and general fitness memberships are separate categories.

Benefits vary by plan, plan year and eligibility. A gym is not an approved participating location until the plan or its fitness-network administrator confirms enrollment. Always confirm your own benefit with your plan. Southern Nevada Health Pass represents no health plan.
