SilverSummit Pregnancy & Baby Rewards: What Each Step Pays

There is no single total — here are the parts

Earlier versions of this page said "up to $145". That is not the ceiling, because several other rewards also apply. Rather than quote a total we cannot support, here are the components SilverSummit lists:

• $25 pregnancy notification — for telling SilverSummit you are pregnant, via the Notification of Pregnancy form. There is no trimester deadline published; notify whenever you can, including later in pregnancy.
• Start Smart rewards for the initial, prenatal and postpartum steps of the programme.
• Prenatal and postpartum depression screenings — each carries its own reward.
• TDAP vaccination during pregnancy.
• Infant well-care visits ($20 under age 2) and, from age 2, the $35 well-child reward.

Ask SilverSummit for the current dollar amount on each row before you plan around a total — the rows change year to year.

How the My Health Pays card actually works

Rewards load onto a My Health Pays prepaid card. It is not a card you can use anywhere Visa debit is accepted — SilverSummit says so plainly, and this is where most members lose value.

Permitted uses: utilities, transportation, telecommunications (phone and internet), childcare, education, rent, and Walmart in-store.

Not permitted: grocers, gas stations and pharmacies are not on SilverSummit's approved list. The card also cannot be used for alcohol, tobacco or firearms.

Funds expire — this is how people lose money they earned

Your balance expires 90 days after your coverage ends, or 365 days after the reward was earned, whichever comes first. Medicaid coverage lapses at redetermination more often than for any other reason, so spend the balance rather than saving it.
