Doctor visits
Primary care and specialists enrolled with Nevada Medicaid.
FFS covers the basics: doctor, hospital and prescriptions with any Medicaid-enrolled provider. But managed care plans (MCOs) like Anthem, Molina, SilverSummit and CareSource add dental, rides, OTC and rewards — at no extra cost. We help you decide.
What you already have with FFS
Primary care and specialists enrolled with Nevada Medicaid.
Inpatient stays, emergency room and surgery covered.
Pharmacy with minimal or no copays based on income.
Therapy, psychiatry and substance use treatment covered.
FFS covers what's medically necessary, but skips most quality-of-life benefits.
Anthem, Molina, SilverSummit and CareSource add all of this — at no cost, still Medicaid.
A bilingual navigator reviews your situation, explains the differences between Anthem, Molina, SilverSummit and CareSource, and helps you choose — or stay on FFS if that fits better.
Get my free comparisonIt's traditional Medicaid administered directly by the State of Nevada (DHCFP). Your card is blue and you can see any provider enrolled with Nevada Medicaid. There's no restricted network but also no extra benefits like adult dental or rides.
If your card only says 'Nevada Medicaid' (blue) and doesn't mention Anthem, Molina, SilverSummit or CareSource, you likely have FFS. We help you check.
Not routinely. FFS covers emergency adult dental only. For cleanings, fillings and preventive dental, you'd need to switch to a managed care plan (MCO) that includes it.
Yes, in most cases. Nevada Medicaid allows you to enroll in an MCO during open windows. We explain the differences between Anthem, Molina, SilverSummit and CareSource so you pick the best one.
Zero. Switching from FFS to an MCO costs nothing — you still have Medicaid, just with a different administrator that adds extra benefits. And our review is free.
Before switching, we verify your doctor is in the MCO's network. If they're not, we show you other options or help you keep them when possible.
